Corgi limited edition (number 2091 of 5000) Ferrari 1962 Tourist Trophy Set
Almost 50 years ago, on Saturday 18th August 1962, the famous Tourist Trophy race took place at Goodwood - ultimately dominated that year by the fabulous Ferrari 250 GTOs.After the demise of Surtees' Ferrari and Clark's Aston Martin, Innes Ireland in the 'British grazing green' UDT 250 GTO (chassis number 3505GT) inherited the lead and kept it to the flag - pursued by Graham Hill in the grey John Coombs car (chassis 3729GT) and the mis-firing third GTO (chassis 3589GT) of Mike Parkes in the evocative dark blue Equipe Endeavour/Maranello Concessionaires machine. The Innes Ireland-piloted winning green 250 GTO features in the 4 April 2012 edition of Haymarket's "Autocar" Magazine.
This boxed set of the 3 Ferraris - complete with the story of the race inside the cover and a certificate of authenticity - is in excellent condition (with just some slight fading to the edge of the box lid).
