Bristol 407 5.2 brochure from 1961

Bristol 407 5.2 brochure from 1961

A simple folded Bristol Cars Motor Show brochure from October 1961 - contained within a blue mock suede cover - with a re-printed road test of the car from "Motor" magazine - the V8 sports saloon tested carrying the Bristol-area registration number of 948 MHT.

This iconic Filton-produced machine cost £4,847. 17. 10. in October 1961, a far cry from the huge price of today's Bristol Fighter and other models you will see displayed at Bristol Cars' Kensington High Street Showroom in London.

The 5.2-litre engine in this car was a Canadian-built Chrysler V8 prompting the "Motor" road-tester to opine : "This remarkable new all-rounder is one of the pleasantest [!] and least tiring cars to drive of all the world's very fast cars" - top speed being 125 mph.

A very unusual item.
